The Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute of Washington, DC presented Paul Robeson: On My Journey Now at Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage Sunday evening. Robeson travelled the world and used his art to promote world peace. He was dubbed America’s first international star. His essence was captured in song by baritone Vashawn Savoy McllWain as well as an array of talented solo artists and dance troupes from the Metropolitan D.C. area.
Among those participating were Culture Queen, Olivia Zhang, Furia Flamenca, Natyhaboomi School of Dance, Spotlight Studio, Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers and The Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute.
